Marisol Acosta, is a modern calligrapher, botanical watercolor artist, and custom event stationery designer. She relocated to the Southbay area with her husband and children in 2020 where she was born and raised. She is delighted to bring you her timeless event stationery!
Sea and Sun Calligraphy began in 2016, from her love of pointed pen calligraphy and watercolor florals. Her home studio is located in Southern California in beautiful San Pedro, in Los Angeles County. Marisol is a calligrapher, self-taught Stationery Designer, graphic designer, and Textile Pattern Designer.
Her stationery designs are inspired by her love of nature and the Old World era. She has a collection of wax seal stamps, silk ribbons, calligraphy pointed pens, inkwells, and deckled edges, & handmade paper. Not to mention she loves collecting antiques!
She loves creating timeless stationery for her amazing clients adding an elegant touch to their beautiful events! Custom stationery design delights the soul with its whimsical enchantment.
On her days off she loves spending time with her husband and children, enjoying their time out in nature especially exploring the South Bay. She loves spending time at the beach, gazing at the amazing panoramic views of the ocean, collecting seashells, and gazing at the beautiful sunsets.
Here at Sea & Sun Calligraphy, she strives to create unique, and timeless custom stationery that enchants everyone who comes across it. It is her mission to create custom stationery that tells her clients' unique stories.

OUR STORY
Hello! I'm Marisol the creative behind Sea and Sun Calligraphy. So you love calligraphy and watercolor artwork? Well, you are in the right place! I began my journey with calligraphy in middle school. In 8th grade, I signed up for Fountain Pen calligraphy class and I mastered Italic, Roman, and Uncial script. It was the best class I had ever taken!
In 2013, I began to explore pointed pen calligraphy, learned modern calligraphy online resources, I fell in love with this art once again and I learned how to design custom stationery.
I was passionate about teaching calligraphy lessons for children and adults so I opened my business in 2016. My first workshop was teaching our friends' children who were homeschooled. I enjoyed teaching them and they truly enjoyed learning this lost, forgotten art.
This then evolved into starting my calligraphy and stationery design business. My husband and children chose my business name. My name Marisol means Sea and Sun and so it was perfect to name it Sea and Sun Calligraphy. They said to me, "What if you become famous?" Laugh out loud! They had faith in me!
I was passionate about teaching others about the beautiful art of Calligraphy. So I now host small group & private 2-hour Beginner's Pointed Pen Modern Calligraphy Lessons for adults and I also teach children Fountain Pen and Marker Beginner's Italic Calligraphy. Along my creative journey, I learned how to watercolor florals, which are one of my favorites to paint, and now grace a few home goods, stationery, MacBook Cases, and Cell Phone cases that I sell on my Zazzle Shop, Society 6 Shop, and Casetify Store. And by the way, pink is my favorite color!
Our wedding stationery designs are timeless, bespoke, and handcrafted pieces that will be heirlooms for years to come. I have collaborated on wedding editorial styled shoots for wedding designers/stylists/magazines/photographers and our calligraphy designs have been featured on Trendy Bride, Hey Wedding Lady, San Diego Style Weddings, Exquisite Weddings Magazine Blog, Bellissima Bride Magazine, Spoken Bride, Friar Tux, at South Coast Winery Bridal Showcase in 2017, & at Temecula Creek Inn Tasting Event in 2018 with an amazing group of local vendors, and in 2019 at Mount Palomar Winery and Avensole Winery.
This Summer of 2019 has been the most memorable as I have worked with some amazing photographers and talented wedding vendors on stunning styled shoots from Los Angeles, Temecula, Fallbrook, and to a magnificent styled bridal shoot in Versailles, France at the Palace of Versailles, Queen Marie Antoinette's Estate with fine art photographer, Ashley Noelle Photography, which the photo gallery graces my website. 2020 has been a challenge for so many but I'm keeping the faith. I am so excited about 2021 as we have relocated to San Pedro, California and clients have already requested our custom stationery! I also collaborated on some amazing editorials with Vanessa of XO & Fetti Photography on another Marie Antoinette-inspired editorial and a stunning spring wedding editorial! I cannot wait to share my artwork and designs with this community. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for my creative business!
In 2022, our stationery was featured on Style Me Pretty for the first time and we are celebrating this accomplishment! Our clients celebrated their wedding on the Amalfi Coast in Ravello, Italy. What an amazing wedding!
My stationery designs include Semi-Custom invitation suites for Children's Parties, Bridal Showers, Weddings, and Event Save the Dates, event reception Menu cards, guest place cards, wedding vow book sets, venue cards, wedding scripture verse prints, custom Bride & Groom monograms, Tea Party Stationery, Quinceañera, and Sweet 16 custom stationery. I have also been a vendor for Spoken Bride, a Catholic Blog for Brides.
My watercolor floral designs grace many products in my Casetify and Society 6 Shop, which can be purchased on my website.
