I just wanted to say hello and thank you for subscribing to my blog! Many things have changed with my calligraphy business due to COVID 19. During this time of reflection, I have had much time to create new watercolor florals that I have uploaded onto my Artist Shops. I want to thank everyone who has in some way supported by small business. I am offering $10 off your first Casetify order or $40 + orders. Our Casetify iPhone Cases are the most popular items purchased in my Casetify Artist Shop. Just tap on the iPhone below to receive this discount.

Not only do I create wedding stationery and iPhone cases but I also create artwork that graces wrapping paper, notebooks, laptop cases, travel mugs, totes, pouches, bedding, home decor, and also face masks.

The wedding industry has been drastically impacted but my custom wedding stationery continues to sell for this I'm grateful. I continue to design new custom stationery for my future clients. I am also waiting to receive wedding photos from my clients, that I cannot wait to share with you all! I can't forget to mention I've been on some beautiful editorials with amazing photographers which have asked me to design timeless stationery for them featuring our new wedding stationery.

I remain hopeful by keeping the faith and know that in due time all will be well. I pray that you and your families stay healthy and safe.

I hope that during this time you are exploring many ways to be creative and stay inspired. Below you can view our beautiful, end of Summer Collection, "Summer Florals." Tap on the photos to purchase from this collection.

Sincerely,

Marisol

Sea and Sun Calligraphy

A Bride & Groom, timeless calligraphy, handmade paper, custom wedding stationery, stunning florals, candles, a gorgeous sunset, a stunning tablescape, and the sound of the rolling waves, makes the most perfect setting for an intimate, serene, and beautiful "Ocean" wedding.

But first, you're probably wondering, "What is a styled shoot?" A styled shoot is where wedding vendors get together to design and coordinate what we call 'a fake wedding" to inspire our future clients on a specific wedding theme. All vendors work for free, bringing their amazing talent to create the wedding of your dreams. Sometimes amazing styled shoots get featured on Wedding Blogs and Wedding Magazines, which is so wonderful for marketing purposes.

Today's inspirational "Ocean" styled shoot was coordinated by Los Angeles Fine Art Wedding Photographer & Videographer, Alex of Alex Gabriel Photography and styled by Cecily of The Sippin Gypsy, a talented wedding vendor in Murrieta, California whom I have worked with many times. I had first collaborated with Alex & Cecily at a wedding venue last summer in Murrieta, California and admired both their work.

This April 2019, Alex contacted me that she was coordinating a few styled shoots and wanted to know if I would love to design some calligraphy and custom stationery for her upcoming projects. She sent me the most beautiful photos of her inspirational boards and I immediately jumped onboard the "Ocean" shoot. My mind was filled with creative ideas for these three upcoming styled shoots. I was excited to collaborate with Alex as I love her beautiful photography and how great these photos would be for my business's portfolio that I would be able to share with my future clients. Cecily captures a timeless and romantic wedding setting this style totally went with my branding style.

The exciting thing was that this styled shoot would be at Laguna Beach, California where my husband proposed to me in December of 1995. This made this styled shoot very special to me. What a perfect match it would be to work with these amazing team of vendors! I began to take notes, drawing sketches of what type of stationery I had in mind. I was so excited to design something for an Ocean Wedding Styled Shoot and how great it would go with Sea & Sun Calligraphy's brand! My name, Marisol, meaning "Sea and Sun", I had always dreamed of being part of a beach wedding and here was my chance as I not always receive stunning photos of my wedding stationery designs from my wedding clients. I had this opportunity and I would do my best to create something timeless and unforgettable! I used gold iridescent ink to handwrite calligraphy on our new custom wedding vow booklets, using the finest handmade paper by Farmette Press, oh how I longed to use this paper in my upcoming collaborations. The menu cards were so much fun to make! I created a gorgeous blue, turquoise watercolor wash with droplets of gold ink symbolizing the sand, and the ocean's mysterious beauty. For the first time I designed a geometric shape symbolizing eternity. I was so excited to finally master this technique. My favorite stationery was the "Take me to the Sea" quote which also had the hand-watercolored blue turquoise wash with glimpses of shimmering gold, my handwritten calligraphy, and tied with beautiful hand-dyed ribbon by my favorite supplier Honey Silks Co. This photo of the "Ocean" Wedding Stationery, on Instagram has received over 1,652 views and is now my top post on Instagram with 142 likes. It is not about the views or the likes but how inspirational custom wedding stationery and creative wedding styled shoots can be. You can now purchase our custom stationery from this styled shoot on my website. This "Ocean" stationery set is now available in our Wedding Stationery Shop. Remember, to create what you love! Let us tell your story!
