Marie Antoinette Styled Shoot - Valentine's Day Bridal Shoot Inspiration

Hello! Hope you are well and safe! I cannot believe it's February! Are you as excited as I am for Spring?! I can't wait!! Well we have exciting news. We have relocated to Los Angeles County, in San Pedro, California. We live closer to the beach, our family, and friends! We are loving it!

During this pandemic I have collaborated on a few styled shoots. This one is going to blow you away! This is a beautiful, Queen Marie Antoinette, inspired styled bridal shoot for some Valentine's Day inspiration! If you're hosting an intimate wedding or event for Valentine's Day, I hope this inspires you to celebrate the gift of LOVE with your loved ones!! To celebrate this day we are offering place cards for your Valentine's Day event or gathering! I now offer curbside pick up if your local to San Pedro, California. You can view our gallery of place cards and contact us here!

So it all began when Los Angeles, Heirloom imagery photographer, Vanessa of XO and Fetti Photography, reached out if I was able to collaborate with her on this beautiful styled shoot she had planned with amazing vendors based in SoCal. My reply to her of course, was yes! Have you seen Vanessa's photography? Well if you haven't you must! It's magical!!! The details she captures are amazing! It was a dream come true to collaborate with her and her team to create custom wedding stationery for this stunning editorial.

As an artist I am always sketching artwork from calligraphy to florals for our upcoming stationery designs. So for this project I found the perfect artwork of Roses in my sketchbook and created an inspiration board for our new "Marie Antoinette" Invitation suite. It had to be truly romantic, inspired by her love of roses and blooms as we see from her portraits, her bedroom walls, her attire, and the majestic gardens of the Petit Trianon, Queen Marie Antoinette's estate in Versailles, France. This estate was a gift to her by her husband, King Louis XVI of France. I wanted to share this quote by King Louis XVI, to his lovely Queen, Marie Antoinette when gifting her this estate. He wrote, “To you who love flowers so, I present this bouquet.” King Louis XVI, 1774.

For the invitation suite I created the initials for the monogram of Queen Marie and King Louis XVI it is surrounded by a rose garland wreath. How romantic!!! The invitation and RSVP card would are surrounded with rose vines. For the invitation suite I used handmade paper by Pressed Paper one of my favorites to use! The handmade paper envelopes are from Farmette Press and they are so beautiful to use for styling our invitation suites. For the wax seals I chose the cherry blossom wax seal stamp, which symbol is reminiscent of cherry blossom trees in Paris, France. There is always symbolism throughout my custom stationery designs.

For the envelope liner I was inspired to use the painting of Marie Antoinette with a Rose in her hand, painted in 1783 by Parisian Artist, Élisabeth-Louise Vigée-Le Brun.

The poem I chose for this editorial is "Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day?"

Poem by William Shakespeare, handwritten using a pointed pen dipped in a vintage inkwell filled with copper-gold iridescent ink, which Vanessa of XO and Fetti used to double exposure a photo of the model, Bernadette Marie with the poem! Absolutely stunning!

I also created 6 scroll place cards and I wrote by hand each of the guests' names in calligraphy using my favorite copper-gold iridescent calligraphy ink, most requested by my clients. I hand wrote the dessert menu in gold ink calligraphy on hand torn watercolor paper and added the cherry blossom gold tone wax seal impression for final the details.

I hope you enjoy this beautiful editorial! Wishing you a fabulous St. Valentine's Day! Stay safe!

Without further ado here is the stunning gallery and the amazing team that made it happen!

XOXO,

Marisol
